We are a growing team introducing you to a range of procedures from coronary bypass graft surgery to valve replacements, heart transplant, open and endovascular surgeries. We have a supportive team with experienced preceptors and strong educational support. Responsibilities

Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Ensure the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment and supplies in the operating room for each operation. Assist the surgeon during the operation as allowed by professional and legal standards. Assist with cleaning the operating room after the operation, ensuring proper routing of equipment and used materials. Report to Manager. Qualifications

Completion of a surgical technologist program. Must be certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or obtain certification within one year of employment. Maintenance of CPR, BLS validation and attendance of annual Validation Day required. Knowledge of various surgical procedures with the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and recognize problems encountered. Knowledge of names and functions of surgical equipment and instrumentation. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding sterile field maintenance. Knowledge and practice of basic care and patient safety concepts. Application of asepsis principles to provide optimal patient care. Knowledge of OR emergency situations. Primary role as a CST in one of seven cardiac or vascular operating rooms; high-volume OR (average 30 open heart cases per week). Additional Details

On-call obligation required for weeknights and both weekend days and nights after orientation. Works as part of a surgical team to provide patient-centered care to high-acuity patients.
