Position Overview The

Vice President of Land Acquisition

will oversee all aspects of land sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and purchase to support the division’s growth objectives. This executive will play a critical role in identifying new land opportunities, developing acquisition strategies, and managing relationships with landowners, brokers, developers, and municipalities. The ideal candidate brings strong market knowledge of Southwest Florida and proven success securing and entitling residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the division’s land acquisition strategy aligned with company growth goals.

Identify, research, and analyze potential land opportunities for residential development.

Negotiate purchase agreements, contracts, and joint ventures with property owners and developers.

Oversee due diligence processes, including financial analysis, environmental studies, zoning, and entitlement feasibility.

Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, consultants, and local government officials.

Collaborate with land development, construction, and finance teams to ensure project viability and alignment with business plans.

Monitor regional market trends, competitor activity, and demographic shifts to guide strategic decisions.

Lead and mentor a high-performing land acquisition team to drive execution and results.

Present land acquisition recommendations and financial projections to executive leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Urban Planning, or related field (MBA preferred).

10+ years of progressive experience in land acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven success acquiring and entitling residential land in the Southwest Florida market.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial modeling skills.

Deep understanding of local zoning, entitlement, and land development processes.

Established relationships with local landowners, municipalities, and brokerage networks.

Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven leadership approach.
