Key Responsibilities
Verbally greet and welcome all visitors in a friendly, warm, and professional manner. Provide a 5‑star first impression for every visitor
Facilitate educational activities and crafts while maintaining a tidy and organized space
Answer all questions related to The Spheres exhibits and promote visitor engagement related to the concepts, designs, and themes of The Spheres
Provide information regarding The Amazon Campus as well as nearby places to eat and other landmarks to visit within the greater Seattle area
Communicate in a clear and friendly manner with visitors of all backgrounds and ages
Foster positive working relationships with Spheres team members and stakeholders
Assist in resolving any escalations with guests, calling on leadership as needed
Daily Operations
Acquire and maintain relevant knowledge of exhibits and installations through in‑depth research and meetings
Facilitate the opening and closing of the Understory as scheduled, ensuring all required tasks are completed prior to the start or end of the public hours
Track appropriate metrics as directed by leadership
Maintain tidiness and organization of the space
Monitor supply inventory and elevate supply requests to leadership as needed
Upon request, create informational and wayfinding signage and materials
Immediately communicate all escalations to leadership; call security if necessary
Attend and actively participate in all meetings and training sessions as scheduled
Maintain a clean and professional appearance
Immediately report any suspicious persons, calls and packages to Amazon Corporate Security, NWC supervisors and Amazon Global Real Estate and Facilities
Report facility and exhibit issues to NWC leadership as they arise
Assist with new tasks, processes, or projects as needed to support evolving team requirements, other NWC divisions, and asks from Amazon partners; embrace change and demonstrate adaptability as business needs develop and shift
Requirements
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment, while always remaining professional and friendly
Maintain good judgement in ambiguous/stressful situations; calm under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with employees and the community
An efficient, clear communicator capable of supporting diverse audiences
Proactive in guest engagement
Detail‑oriented, organized, and thorough in all tasks, including planning and execution
Comfortable presenting and speaking informally to both large and small groups
Flexibility to work various shifts during operating hours including some nights and weekends
A flexible, supportive team player, capable of bringing positivity to all situations
Learn and retain new exhibit information
Ability to understand, interpret and follow Amazon's policies and procedures.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Maintains flexibility and respect in relationships with coworkers and leadership
Ability to practice a level of confidentiality without exception
Must be proficient with MS Windows, Excel, and Outlook e‑mail.
Possesses strong conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Willingness to work in a changing environment
High School Diploma or GED required
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
The position requires standing for long periods of time up to the entire length of the shift
Humidity and temperature conditions may vary in order to maximize the plant life in the space. The temperature of the Spheres is maintained between 70 and 75 degrees with an average humidity of 60%
Must adhere to dress code and be conscientious about personal hygiene
The space is inhabited by various plant life; individuals with plant allergies may not be the best fit.
Ability to speak to visitors, staff and colleagues for the duration of each shift
Ability to walk consistently within a 1.5 radius; walking up and down stairs is required when roving the space and assisting customers
Must be able to frequently carry and lift items up to 50 pounds
May need to carry supplies to other buildings
This is a dog friendly environment with over 1000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs may not be the best fit
