About the Role
You love good stories, smart design, and content that actually connects. As Communications Manager, you’ll be the voice behind Animal Farm Foundation, creating social posts, blogs, emails, and videos that make people stop scrolling and start caring. You’ll tailor content for different audiences, shelter staff, policymakers, journalists, advocates, and dog lovers, so each group hears what matters most to them and gives them the tools they need to share our message. You’ll work with a small, creative team that believes good communication saves lives. What You’ll Do
Run our social media, website, and email calendars so content stays active and relevant Write copy that’s clear, human, and never boring Create social, blog, and newsletter content designed for each audience’s interests and needs Pitch stories to outlets like The Dodo, People Pets, and Today Design simple, clean graphics and print pieces in Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud Keep the website current in WordPress/Elementor and check SEO basics Build and track email campaigns, segment audiences, and share insights Take photos and videos of dogs, farm animals, and daily moments that show our impact Post events on external calendars, handle press outreach, and coordinate with freelancers Track what’s working across platforms and adjust based on real results Help with program launches, fundraising campaigns, and new toolkits Keep our photo and video library neat and searchable What You Bring
Experience in communications or marketing, preferably in a mission-driven org Strong writing and editing skills Confident using social, email, and web platforms Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud experience Comfortable with basic photo and video editing Organized and adaptable with shifting priorities Collaborative but self-driven Knows how to write in plain, accessible language Bonus Skills
Experience with WordPress/Elementor, Mailchimp, SEO, analytics, or press relations Work Life
Weekday schedule with occasional nights or weekends for events Work at our office located on a farm in Amenia, NY Pay & Benefits
$48,000–$50,000 per year, depending on experience Health and dental insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) and HSA contributions To Apply
