Hall Darling Design Studio is seeking an Architectural Staff Level II (or similar) to join our small but mighty team in Sarasota. We’re a collaborative, design-focused studio that values creativity, technical rigor, and a healthy work-life balance.
This position is ideal for a designer with several years of experience who’s ready to take on greater responsibility, contribute to all phases of project development, and grow within a supportive team environment. Our work spans a variety of civic, commercial, and residential projects, with historic preservation and adaptive reuse forming a meaningful part of our practice.
Responsibilities
Develop design concepts, detailed drawings, and presentation materials.
Prepare and coordinate construction documents.
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and other team members.
Research codes, zoning regulations, and materials to ensure compliance.
Participate in meetings and document design decisions.
Review shop drawings and submittals to maintain design intent.
Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation.
Support and mentor junior staff as part of a collaborative studio team.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent).
3–6 years of professional architectural experience.
Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Solid understanding of construction materials, systems, and detailing.
Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and documentation standards.
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Strong design sensibility with attention to detail.
Actively pursuing or interested in architectural licensure (AXP support available).
Interest or experience in historic preservation and adaptive reuse is a plus.
