Overview
As Director of Mechanical Engineering, you will lead our talented team of HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler engineers and designers at our production facility in San Francisco. This role focuses on the technical direction and successful execution of all mechanical engineering designs for commercial facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position emphasizes collaboration between engineering and field teams to innovate means and methods, ensuring swift and high-quality delivery at a competitive price. Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers. Oversee and perform the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. Generate pre-construction budgets based on preliminary and schematic designs. Ensure all designs meet code requirements and client performance specifications. Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, field installation crews, and other stakeholders. Develop and implement engineering standards and best practices. Qualifications
10+ years of experience in professional mechanical (primarily HVAC) engineering and design for commercial facilities. Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams. Familiar with design-build project delivery, preferably in a tenant improvement and existing building retrofit context. Proficient in CAD and BIM software tools.
