We are seeking a dynamic
Director of Mechanical Engineering
to lead our talented team of HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler engineers and designers at our San Francisco production facility. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the
technical direction, quality, and execution
of all mechanical engineering designs for commercial facilities across the Bay Area.

to innovate design approaches, optimize project delivery, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency—all at a competitive cost.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Design Oversight:
Oversee and participate in the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler systems for a wide range of commercial facilities.
Budgeting & Estimation:
Develop pre-construction budgets based on schematic and preliminary designs.
Compliance & Quality:
Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
Collaboration:
Work closely with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, field installation teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Process Improvement:
Establish and implement engineering standards, best practices, and innovative processes to enhance project delivery and technical performance.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering and design, with a strong focus on HVAC systems for commercial buildings.
Leadership:
Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Design-Build Expertise:
Strong background in design-build project delivery, particularly in tenant improvement and existing building retrofit projects.
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced skills in CAD and BIM software tools.
Must-Have Qualifications
Licensure:
Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in the State of California.
Experience:
10+ years of experience as a licensed Mechanical Engineer designing HVAC systems for commercial facilities.
Work Environment:
Comfortable working on-site and commuting daily to the San Francisco office.
