Job Summary
Manage assigned categories and work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure departmental sourcing strategies and objectives are met. Develop and execute supply strategies under the direction of the Director, Strategic Sourcing and Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing. Research and evaluate potential new suppliers and their products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage assigned spend category by developing category strategic plans.
Administer and manage RFx process including, but not limited to, RFx review and analysis, vendor evaluation and supplier management.
Negotiate price and supply agreements.
Ensure contract compliance with suppliers.
Determine potential cost savings initiatives and opportunities. Drive year-over-year improvement in costs and create value.
Represent Strategic Sourcing on various teams and projects.
Monitor and analyze market conditions for raw materials and assigned categories.
Manage performance of suppliers for assigned categories, create alternate sources and manage risk.
Follow procurement policies and procedures. Help improve existing work processes with the goal of improved collaboration, efficiency and ease of execution.
Serve as mentor to and train Strategic Sourcing Specialists as needed.
Manage actual costs and cost/budget projections with accuracy and timeliness.
Travel up to 15% as required.
Additional responsibilities as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Food Science preferred.
Eight plus years’ experience preferably in a dairy, food and beverage (F&B) or manufacturing environment.
MBA and/or professional certifications highly desired.
Professional Certification in a related field is a plus.
Project management experience or PMP certification is desirable.
Experience in category and supplier management is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced procurement tools like Ariba, SAP, TraceGains etc.
Demonstrated skills in contract negotiations and execution.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and problem‑solving skills.
Take ownership and accountability for performance of categories, supplier relationships and delivery of value to the organization.
Pay range: $127,000 - $140,000 USD.
