Senior HR Technical Architect

– Location: Hybrid work options in New York, NY; Morristown, NJ; Boston, MA; Lenexa, KS; or Alpharetta, GA. We are open to remote work arrangements from locations outside our office areas.

Overview At Sompo International, HR Technology is the engine powering how our people work, get paid, and grow. This role is a hands-on architect position responsible for designing, building, and elevating Workday solutions that touch thousands of employees worldwide. This is not a “just configure” role; you will be the go-to Workday expert trusted by HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT leaders to architect scalable, secure solutions, build integrations, lead security design, enable payroll and time tracking excellence, and turn data into actionable insights.

What You’ll Do

Architect large Workday solutions across Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Absence, and Time Tracking.

Build and maintain integrations (Studio, EIB, RAAS, APIs, PECI, Boomerangs, XSLT) to ensure data flows smoothly and securely.

Lead Workday security design and governance, balancing user access with audit readiness.

Influence and mentor: Partner with senior leaders and coach HR Technology analysts to elevate the team.

Drive continuous improvement: Own release readiness, optimize processes, and identify smart automation opportunities.

What You Bring

6+ years of progressive Workday experience with strong technical chops.

Proven expertise in integrations (Studio, EIB, RAAS, APIs, PECI, Boomerang, XSLT).

Deep understanding of Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, and Compensation.

Workday Pro certifications (a big plus) and Advanced Compensation knowledge preferred.

Strong skills in Workday reporting, security, and data governance.

Problem-solving mindset and the ability to influence at all levels.

Salary Salary Range: $130,000 – $170,000. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Our program blends base pay with performance-based incentives.
