About The Role

HealthFitness has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time (40 hrs/wk) Fitness Program Manager at our client site located in Alexandria, VA. This role will typically work M/W/F - 10:30am-6:30pm and T/TH - 11:30am-7:30pm, with flexibility to adjust with current staff. The on-site facility offers group exercise classes, a variety of fitness and strength equipment, and a basketball court.

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and directing all operational aspects of an on-site fitness program ensuring the highest level of participation, results achievement, and customer satisfaction in the delivery of programs and services.

Ensure contract compliance; develop and adhere to the strategic business plan; supervise, train, and develop staff; design and facilitate health & fitness programs; and perform administrative duties including outcomes-focused management reports.

Manage all program activities in accordance with HealthFitness operational, quality, safety, and service standards.

Develop and implement the yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/service offerings and initiatives, targeted outcomes, and marketing strategy to meet client objectives. Prepare and manage operating budget; ensure expenditures follow applicable policies and procedures.

Lead regular staff meetings to inform associates about HealthFitness, client and program events, initiatives, and status.

Maintain contract compliance and client relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction and HealthFitness value is reinforced.

Direct the implementation of individual and group fitness programs, health education activities, motivational programs, and special events; coordinate marketing and communications to maximize program engagement.

Track participant and program data for measurement of outcomes; create outcomes-focused management reports aligned with business plan goals; manage data storage, retention, and confidentiality per HealthFitness requirements.

Conduct informal safety checks and safety audits on a routine basis in line with HealthFitness guidelines.

Perform staff responsibilities including floor supervision, fitness testing, exercise prescription, member orientations, personal training, and group fitness instruction; ensure equipment and facilities are well maintained and issues resolved promptly.

Collaborate with the Director, Client Success to introduce new HealthFitness programs, products, and services to the client.

Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.

2+ years’ related industry experience.

Industry recognized Group Exercise certification or Personal Training certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA or other NCCA accredited agency required.

Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Institute, or American Safety & Health Institute required by start date (in-person component required).

Ability to lead, manage and operate a fitness center.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation : $45,000/Year - $50,000/Year. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional commission opportunities for someone with an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved Personal Trainer certification.
