A fast-growing organization is building a next-generation CRM and data analytics platform designed to support political campaigns and advocacy organizations. Their platform helps clients make data-driven decisions for donor engagement, outreach, and targeting — leveraging a database of over 20 million active donors.
As a
Backend Developer , you’ll be part of a small, fast-paced, cross-functional engineering team developing a new platform from the ground up. The role is backend-heavy, focusing on data pipelines, APIs, and infrastructure to support large-scale analytics and integrations.
You’ll work cradle-to-grave on services — from design to deployment — while collaborating closely with product, frontend, and leadership teams. Candidates should thrive in environments that require autonomy, adaptability, and curiosity about the “why” behind business decisions.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
Build and optimize data pipelines using Airflow or similar orchestration tools
Develop and manage GCP infrastructure (Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Storage)
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and manage containerization via Docker
Collaborate with product and frontend teams to define service contracts and integrations
Apply observability, testing, and code quality best practices
Mentor junior developers and contribute to evolving best practices
