Junior Systems Administrator (Onsite) Position
Summary
The Junior Systems Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the IT team through routine system maintenance, assisting with troubleshooting, and helping to ensure the reliability and security of the organization's IT infrastructure. This position provides hands-on experience in server management, networking, and daily technical support. Responsibilities
Servers
Maintain the server infrastructure, including regular backups to safeguard organizational data. Perform or oversee the installation and maintenance of Windows-based applications on servers, collaborating with vendors as necessary. Replace or upgrade existing server infrastructure as it reaches end-of-life (EOL) to maintain optimal performance and security. Manage remote server access and oversee application deployment using tools such as Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Citrix. Maintain and troubleshoot the organization's Hybrid Active Directory (AD) environment to ensure seamless identity management. Assist the DevOps group with tasks related to Linux servers, supporting a variety of server environments as needed.
Networking
Monitor the organization's network infrastructure, proactively identifying issues and managing trouble tickets with vendors when required. Manage and troubleshoot wireless networks, and assist in projects aimed at consolidating wireless infrastructure for improved efficiency.
Cloud and Applications
Assist with the management of Office 365 and Azure environments to ensure reliable access and security of cloud-based resources. Support the administration of cloud security products, helping to safeguard the organization's digital assets. Coordinate with Information Security and DevOps departments on cloud infrastructure projects, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) implementations.
Support for Service Desk Operations
Assist with building and testing computer deployments using Endpoint Management and automation tools, ensuring consistent and efficient workstation setups. Provide high-level support for escalated issues related to server, network, or cloud infrastructure, working collaboratively with other IT staff to resolve complex technical challenges.
Performance Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time while performing job duties. Capability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Demonstrate manual and physical dexterity to handle IT equipment and perform technical tasks. Ability to read and understand the English language for effective communication and documentation. Maintain the confidentiality of records and communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels. Possess a valid South Carolina (SC) driver's license. Three to five years of systems administration or enterprise-level IT support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential job duties. Experience with Windows desktop and Server operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with managing VMWare, VEEAM, and other system administration tools. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD) administration, user account creation, and Internet email platforms. Exhibit excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Associate’s degree in information technology or related IT certifications are required. Experience

Four or more years of relevant work experience are preferred for this position. Other Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should possess knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Server administration, Microsoft Office 365 administration, VMWare, Veeam, desktop hardware and printers. Strong communication skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, a sense of urgency, and project management abilities are also essential. Certifications
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft MCP certifications are preferred.
