Our client, an Am 100 law firm, has an immediate opening in their Chicago office for a Commercial Litigation Associate with three to five years of experience preferred. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in the Financial Services Capital Markets Strategic Business Unit.
Experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation including conducting factual investigations and discovery. Preparing pleadings and taking depositions. Arguing motions and participating in mediation. Communicating effectively with clients. Experience in both state and federal court is preferred; administrative matters and arbitrations experience is beneficial. Second-chair experience at trial or arbitration is preferred but not required. The candidate must have: An excellent academic record and superb writing skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team. Superior judgment, and the ability to effectively handle multiple projects. Experience articulating legal strategies and courses of action. Additionally, judicial clerkship experience with a federal court is preferred but not required. Candidates must have an Illinois bar license or commit to obtaining one soon.
