Overview

Head of U.S. High Net Worth (HNW) Banking – responsible for managing four regional teams delivering Private Banking deposit and lending products. The team will be comprised of portfolio bankers, credit administrators and analysts. The role provides technical expertise on credit analysis, credit structuring, credit decisioning, credit administration, and portfolio management including annual reviews and covenant checking and portfolio monitoring. The HNW Banking team works closely with the Banking origination teams to deliver high-value products and services for the Private Banking client segment. Responsibilities

Identifies cross-selling opportunities to increase client penetration for banking, investments and deposits. Provides day to day technical support and management of accounts for team members and customers. Supports the sales process and client experience, identifying gaps, issues and best practices. Ensures timely resolution of all client questions and concerns, both internal and external. Performs client sales and service support activities as required to meet client needs and maintain overall service standards. Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives. Develops an expert understanding of business and group challenges. Networks with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices. Recommends measures to improve organizational effectiveness. Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making. Contributes to the development of the business plan and executes to meet identified business objectives. Identifies new and innovative ways of managing the business and increasing competitiveness with market requirements. Identifies and shares best practices to maximize productivity and encourage continuous improvement. Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues. Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Acts as the prime contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives. Coordinates the management of databases; ensures data alignment and integration in accordance with data governance standards. Completes comprehensive analysis for risk, financial and profitability rating and assessments. Breaks down strategic problems and analyzes data to provide insights and recommendations. Monitors and tracks performance and addresses issues. Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards. Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment. Leads development of the communication strategy to influence or change behaviour, and collaborates across BMO to ensure consistency of messaging. Reviews risk composition and concentration in the portfolio and escalates material exceptions for attention and regularization. Ensures effective processes and controls are in place to minimize risk and maintain portfolio quality within acceptable levels. Oversees operational programs and ensures quality of execution. Oversees setup, maintenance, advances / loan drawdowns and related account administration per credit authorization and guidelines. Maintains and reviews operating guidelines and policies to ensure alignment with Bank policies and business needs. May provide specialized support for other internal and external regulatory requirements. Identifies business needs, designs or develops tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences. Mitigates identified risks and makes credit recommendations/decisions per sound credit-granting principles and compliance with policy. Identifies irregularities and discrepancies to management as per guidelines. Participates in audits and compliance reviews. Ensures adherence to the code of conduct and ethical guidelines, and follows security and safeguarding procedures to prevent loss due to fraud or non-compliance. Protects the Bank’s assets by adhering to banking, investment and lending regulations, policies and procedures, legal and ethical requirements. Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level as a senior specialist resource across BMO and influences how teams work together. Applies expertise to address ambiguous situations and solves complex, interdependent problems; communicates abstract concepts in simple terms. Fosters networks and collaborates across teams to achieve business objectives; anticipates trends and implements changes accordingly. Qualifications

Typically 10+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; MBA or master’s degree preferred. Extensive credit and risk expertise; expert knowledge of private wealth management strategies and trends. Broad banking experience in high net worth / ultra high net worth markets; strong knowledge of applicable compliance and industry regulations. Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving, and influence skills; collaborative mindset with cross-group experience. Data-driven decision making and ability to manage ambiguity. Salary and Benefits

Salary: $137,000 - $238,000. Pay Type: Salaried. This reflects the pay range for the role and is subject to location, skills, experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include performance-based incentives and other benefits as described by the company. About Us
