Overview
The Head of U.S. HNW Banking manages four regional teams that deliver Private Banking deposit and lending products. The team comprises portfolio bankers, credit administrators and analysts, and the individual provides technical expertise on credit analysis, structuring, decisioning, administration, portfolio management, annual reviews and covenant checking, and portfolio monitoring. Responsibilities
Lead the oversight of credit structuring and decisioning for high‑net‑worth clients. Manage portfolio monitoring, covenant checks and annual portfolio reviews. Ensure credit authority, compliance and collaboration with second and third‑line partners. Foster a culture aligned to BMO purpose and values, and model BMO behaviours. Support the sales process and client experience, identifying gaps and best practices. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, implementing strategic initiatives. Provide day‑to‑day technical support and management of accounts for team members. Lead cross‑group collaboration to create the highest value for all stakeholders. Qualifications
Typically 10+ years of relevant experience and post‑secondary degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, MBA or Masters preferred. Extensive credit and risk expertise, with expert knowledge of private wealth management strategies. Broad background in financial services, with expert knowledge of banking services for the high net‑worth / ultra high net‑worth markets. Expert knowledge of all applicable compliance and industry regulations. Credit qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards (if a Credit Qualifiable job). Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge. Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation. Verbal & written communication skills – Expert. Analytical and problem solving skills – Expert. Influence skills – Expert. Collaboration & team skills – Expert. Able to manage ambiguity. Data‑driven decision making – Expert. Salary
