The University of Indianapolis (UIndy) has an important opportunity to serve the post-traditional learner market— including degree completers, short-term credential seekers, career changers, and career chargers. UIndy is building on core strengths and will drive innovation by redesigning offerings to serve different markets via new modalities, formats, and modules. The University has created a new business unit— UIndy Online and Sease Institute. Through UIndy Online (credit-bearing and degree-granting programs) and Sease Institute (non-degree corporate and community training and executive education programs), the university will develop offerings for online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats, including degree completion options and stackable certificates. UIndy founded the Gene and Joanne Sease Institute in 2019 to advance workforce development and strengthen regional outcomes. The Sease Institute creates and offers programs flexible, nimble, and relevant to workforce needs in healthcare, business, technology, and other sectors. UIndy Online and Sease Institute will build partnerships with corporate, government, and community organizations to provide internships, work-based learning, and continuing education solutions. Opportunities & Expectations For Leadership

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Dean will oversee a new business unit and lead ongoing planning and development of UIndy Online and Sease Institute. The Dean will work in close partnership with the President, Provost, and deans of the University’s four colleges. Responsibilities

Operationalize plans and strategy for UIndy Online and Sease Institute. Assemble the team and infrastructure to develop, deploy, and manage an expanded portfolio of programs for post-traditional, corporate, and not-for-profit learners. Collaborate with fellow UIndy deans to modify existing programs to meet changing market demands and learner preferences, including stackable certificates. Launch new online degree programs and new stackable certificate programs in collaboration with the colleges and schools. Launch non-credit leadership and training seminars through the Sease Institute. Build capacity to provide primary one-stop support services for online learners (admissions, registration, financial aid, advising). Assess opportunities and limitations of strategic third-party partnerships to support growth of UIndy Online and Sease Institute. External Partnerships

Develop and maintain relationships with local industry, government, and not-for-profit organizations to create mutually beneficial programs. Collaborate on grant opportunities that support local workforce needs and provide credentials and degree options. Establish partnerships with training/academic programs to support the university’s strategic plan. Institutional Leadership: Online, Professional, and Continuing Education

Collaborate with deans and leaders to identify strengths, capabilities, and market demands for educational offerings. Develop policies and best practices related to instructional design, workload, prior learning assessment, tuition, accessibility, and learner support. Serve as a liaison to academic leaders regarding online and professional education, operations, and student success. Professional Qualifications & Personal Qualities

The University of Indianapolis seeks an experienced, innovative, and collaborative leader to serve as the Dean of UIndy Online and Sease Institute. The candidate should have experience building and leading a complex online education enterprise and managing change. A master’s or doctoral degree and significant operational and administrative experience are preferred. Additional qualifications include: Expertise and thought leadership in online and professional education with a strategic vision for the future of online learning. Familiarity with online/hybrid offerings and the landscape of regional and national markets. Understanding of cost/benefit considerations for Online Program Managers and third-party providers. Strong budgeting, marketing, enrollment management, and cross-functional team leadership experience. Ability to build and scale a learner-focused organization and translate market research into programs. Benefits
