Watch Our Story: https://www.hdrinc.com/our-story In the role of Regional Education and Science Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of HDR’s Education and Science sector in the Northwest Region, contributing to a world-renowned design practice. We’re seeking a dynamic leader with passion, expertise, and charisma to drive new business, oversee impactful projects, and strengthen HDR’s exceptional reputation throughout the region. The Regional Director will report directly to the Global Education and Science Director and will lead business development and drive strategic growth for the Education and Science market sector at both regional and local levels. This position will be responsible for ensuring that HDR’s brand is elevated and maintained through quality design, innovative planning, client service and thought leadership on projects throughout the Northwest Region. Responsibilities

Lead Business Development Strategy – in conjunction with local Education and Science Principals: drive development of business strategies for the market sector, identify target clients regionally and locally, and develop strategic partnerships to support initiatives. Define and implement sector business development priorities, focusing on research, market and competitor trend analysis, predictive analytics, and network building. Lead Premarketing and Pursuits Processes: coach pursuit teams in client capture plans, pre-marketing strategies, relationship building, proposal and interview preparation, and related activities. Participate in reviews for GNG, fee strategies and alternative delivery projects; lead RFQ/RFP analysis and development of written proposals, qualification packages and timely submissions. Develop interview presentation strategies and team preparations to win presentations and interviews. Manage Education and Science Sector Goals: lead annual market sector planning with annual fee goals, marketing budgets, and regional/local outcomes in collaboration with Principals. Nurture Client Relationships: build strong relationships with key clients across facilities, systems and institutions in the region. Represent and Advance the Firm: increase awareness of HDR’s practice at local, regional, and national levels. Drive Education and Science Initiatives: assist strategy for annual market sector communications, external and internal marketing content, and thought leadership activities. Drive Sector Growth: assist in talent identification and recruitment, and lead ongoing evaluation of practice capabilities and performance; mentor and develop office teams. Oversee successful project delivery: where appropriate, lead projects as Principal-in-Charge or advise to add value; provide guidance to project teams. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications : Professional degree in architecture, interior design or related field; maintains professional registration. Experience in A/E/C industry with at least two years of management experience; knowledge of local and regional education and science market. Forward-thinking with big-picture mentality; ability to develop and execute targeted market and client strategies; ability to lead a team and present to clients. Business development experience in education and science design; strong leadership and project management skills; excellent verbal and written communication; willing to travel. Advanced credentials (e.g., ACHA, LEED, EDAC). Required Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, planning or related field. Minimum 10 years of industry experience; proven development and management of strategic marketing programs for architecture, engineering and/or planning services. Experience managing a wide range of client relationships and pursuits; staff development including recruiting and career growth; active involvement with industry associations. Ability to collaborate with multiple regional and area leaders to align strategy and operations; commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture. Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated pay range: $190,000-240,000. HDR provides a comprehensive benefits package for full-time regular positions, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid time away, parental leave, holidays, retirement plan with employer match, and other programs. The stated benefits apply to full-time roles; temporary/part-time roles may have limited benefits.
