Overview

Data Architect role at Goosehead Insurance. The position focuses on ensuring a robust, secure data ecosystem that supports data-driven initiatives. Design, create, deploy, and manage the organization's data architecture, including data storage, consumption, integration, and data governance across systems and applications. Responsibilities

Define and implement the enterprise data strategy aligned with long-term business objectives. Design scalable, secure, and flexible data architecture enabling data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align data initiatives with business needs. Architect and deploy end-to-end data solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, integration pipelines, and modeling frameworks. Create and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes using ETL/ELT tools to support real-time and batch data flows. Oversee enterprise-wide data integration, ensuring interoperability across systems and departments. Establish and enforce data governance policies ensuring data integrity, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Evaluate, select, and implement modern data platforms and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake). Utilize Python and SQL to design and implement scalable data pipelines. Help implement DevOps and DataOps practices including CI/CD, version control, code reviews, and automated testing for data infrastructure and transformation workflows. Stay current with industry trends in data architecture, cloud, and AI. Collaborate with IT teams, data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to ensure consistency and alignment. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the data team. Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field required. Master’s degree or advanced certifications preferred. 5+ years of experience in data management, including 2+ years as a Data Architect, delivering innovative solutions. Certifications such as TOGAF, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Azure Solution Architect, or Snowflake SnowPro certifications are a plus. Required Skills and Abilities

Hands-on experience with data architecture patterns including data warehouse, data mesh, medallion architecture, and data lakehouse for modern analytics. Proficient in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), Snowflake, and star schemas for robust data structuring. Experience with Erwin, SQL DBM, Lucidchart, ER/Studio for designing and documenting scalable solutions. Advanced SQL and Python skills for complex data extraction, transformation, and querying. Experience with Snowflake and other leading data platforms to architect high-performance solutions. Strong understanding of modern data integration patterns (APIs, event-driven, streaming, ELT/ETL). Experience implementing data governance frameworks and data catalog solutions for quality and security. Proven leadership in guiding cross-functional teams and driving data initiatives. Excellent communication skills for presenting technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences. Benefits
