The HR Director serves as a strategic advisor and operational leader, aligning HR functions with business goals to support a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture. The core responsibilities of this position will include: Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted member of the leadership team, shaping HR strategy to support growth and culture. Identify and cultivate talent inside and outside the organization to strengthen the leadership pipeline and ensure business continuity. Lead strategic HR initiatives that enhance efficiencies and streamline processes. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements. Establish credibility throughout the organization at all levels and serve as an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Lead all aspects of talent management, including recruiting, onboarding, and related activities. Build strong partnerships with universities, recruiters, and community organizations to attract top-tier talent. Position the firm competitively in the marketplace for future hires, representing the company at job fairs and community events. Lead new-employee orientations and onboarding, monitoring career pathing program and exit interviewing. Employee Development & Performance: Manage learning and development initiatives, including leadership training and compliance education. Oversee performance review process and coaching for managers. Drive organizational development and succession planning. Support career progression and internal mobility through structured planning. Employee Relations & Engagement: Provide counsel on employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace culture. Promote a positive, inclusive, and equitable environment. Lead employee engagement surveys, analyze results, and implement improvements. Operational Excellence, Payroll & HR Systems: Administer competitive compensation and benefits programs. Manage bi-weekly payroll processing through outsourced payroll administrator. Responsible for reporting to the Board of Directors on organizational strategy and outcomes. Manage vendor relationships and oversee 401(k) plan administration and open enrollment. Drive process improvements and implement scalable HR policies and procedures that balance organizational needs with employee well-being. Maintain HRIS systems, metrics, and analytics to inform leadership decisions and highlight workforce trends. Maintain compliance with all federal and state employment regulations including EEOC, workers’ compensation, and other reporting. Conduct surveys, analyze data, and act on feedback with measurable initiatives. Culture & Organizational Stewardship: Champion a workplace culture rooted in collaboration, respect, and innovation. Partner with leadership to design and execute initiatives that reinforce the firm’s values and strengthen its reputation in the industry. Serve as a visible and approachable leader by building relationships across multiple locations, including periodic travel to regional sites. Ideal Background and Experience
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field; SHRM certification a plus. 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Experience with HRIS and outsourced payroll systems. Skilled at coaching through sensitive and complex issues. Data-driven and highly organized, with strong decision-making abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High integrity with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
