The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s payroll operations. This role plays a key part in overseeing multi-state payroll, implementing payroll policies, ensuring compliance, preparing reports, and supporting HR and finance with budgets, benefits, and audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable laws.
Backup for processing payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable laws.
Oversee the maintenance of payroll records, systems, and reports.
Supplying and reporting meaningful analytical data
Maintain HRIS data, process transactional changes (e.g., promotions, terminations and state mandated notices), generate reports, and handle employment verifications.
Ensure compliance with federal, multi-state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Collaborate with HR on employee changes, new hires, terminations, and compensation updates.
Partner with Finance on payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies.
Manage payroll audits and prepare necessary documentation for internal and external auditors.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement system enhancements.
Collect, analyze, and report HR metrics (e.g., turnover, exit interviews, retention, time-to fill, headcount, etc.) to support strategic decision making.
5+ Years payroll experience
5+ Years HR Experience
1+ year experience in ADP Workforce Now payroll system
1+ year experience with multi-state employers
Professional strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
Trustworthy (ability to handle confidential information)
Reliable
Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field
HR Certifications: PHR, SPHR
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
Pay Rate:
$75,000 - $85,000/year
