This position requires a South Florida-based professional available for a hybrid work environment with onsite meetings.
About The Role We're seeking an experienced Senior Community Outreach Specialist with significant experience with the South Florida community and the cultural landscape. You should have a background in transportation, construction, or public works related programs. This role leads outreach for major construction projects and serves as a key information source for stakeholders and partners across South Florida’s diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop community awareness plans, and identify construction impacts and mitigation messaging
Prepare plain language, trilingual collateral; develop alliances and corporate partnerships
Draft press content and respond to media. Prepare talking points and present at meetings
Maintain stakeholder databases and issue weekly e‑blasts. Coordinate public meetings, hearings and special events
Track issues log and resolutions; provide bi‑weekly updates to the project manager
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years leading communications on major transportation projects
Strong writing, recordkeeping, presentations to officials and diverse audiences
Familiarity with Miami‑Dade and Monroe communities with crisis communications experience
Preferred
Trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) strongly desired
