As a Part Time Student - Software Engineering for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group located in Urbandale, IA Ames, IA you will be responsible for: Work on Setup applications such as Land Manager, Setup Builder, and Path Planning. These applications help our Ag customers prepare for Tillage, Planting, Spraying, and Harvesting field work through management of Fields, Guidance, and Boundaries. You will primarily work on front-end development using JavaScript and React with additional opportunity for back-end API development using Java. Developing and supporting high quality John Deere agronomic web applications using React Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications Collaborating with Product Managers, User Experience, and other support roles to define product requirements Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position What Skills You Need
Experience developing with JavaScript and React Experience developing and utilizing REST APIs Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (other may apply) Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester Must be able to commute to the work location in Urbandale, IA or Ames, IA on a daily basis year-round What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks, such as Mocha, Jest, React Testing Library Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud computing platforms Experience developing in John Deere Operations Center Benefits and Additional Information
