Responsibilities
Work on Setup applications such as Land Manager, Setup Builder, and Path Planning.
These applications help our Ag customers prepare for Tillage, Planting, Spraying, and Harvesting field work through management of Fields, Guidance, and Boundaries.
You will primarily work on front-end development using JavaScript and React with additional opportunity for back-end API development using Java.
Develop and support high quality John Deere agronomic web applications using React.
Engage in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications.
Collaborate with Product Managers, User Experience, and other support roles to define product requirements.
Support a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration.
What Skills You Need
Experience developing with JavaScript and React
Experience developing and utilizing REST APIs
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS (other may apply)
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester
Must be able to commute to Urbandale, IA or Ames, IA on a daily basis year-round
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest, React Testing Library)
Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud platforms
Experience developing in John Deere Operations Center
