The Role : The Director of Construction will be based in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. The Director of Construction will oversee, coordinate, and manage the company’s construction project portfolio. Responsibilities : Plans and directs day to day operations and strategic direction of large, utility scale solar construction programs as well as lead a team of high performing professionals Significantly contributes to creating and maintaining best in class policies and procedures Establishes and maintains supply chain relationships Leads, manages, develops staff, across multiple utility scale solar construction projects Provides guidance and project leadership ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectations Directs as many as 25+ external vendors per project comprising General Contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc. Leads in establishing and maintaining high value relationships Leads in developing and executing effective contract administration procedures, including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation Helps the Senior Director of Construction leading project teams including Project Managers, Project Management Assistants, Site Superintendents, and Subcontractors Manages all aspects of construction projects from pre-construction to project close-out Education and Experience : Degree in construction management or related field preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education 7+ Years of experience in commercial construction project management or development PMP or other project management certification preferred Work Location, and Travel : This position will be based in Arlington, VA. Travel may be required throughout Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region up to 25% of time. Seniority level
