Identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results for a wide variety of patient populations. Direct and act as a resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned and promote compliance with policies. Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care, including assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care. Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction. Train and delegate duties; adhere to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Practice autonomous nursing care consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, exercising independent judgment within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Apply knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and evaluate clinical situations; participate in patient and staff education and demonstrate leadership and accountability. Minimum Qualifications
Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction AHA or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR CDCES certification within one year of hire Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduation from an accredited school of nursing At least three (3) years of recent RN experience At least two (2) years of recent pediatric RN experience in an acute hospital inpatient or ambulatory clinic care setting At least one (1) year of experience caring for pediatric patients living with diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2) Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; ability to utilize medical terminology Knowledge of current trends in nursing and commitment to excellence in patient care Effective interpersonal skills and accountability/professionalism Adaptability to change in a positive, professional and productive manner Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation Knowledge of performance improvement and evidence-based practice Basic computer skills Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with consideration of pediatric developmental and physiological characteristics Understanding of pediatric endocrine disorders (diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid conditions, pubertal disorders, adrenal disorders, gender dysphoria, and other hormonal imbalances) Knowledge of endocrine diagnostic testing and procedures (e.g., blood glucose monitoring, hormone panels, growth hormone stimulation tests, imaging studies) including gender dysphoria assessments Understanding of treatment modalities for pediatric endocrine conditions (insulin therapy, oral medications, growth hormone therapy, hormone replacement therapy, and gender-affirming interventions) Relational competencies Preferred Qualifications
Current specialty certification Recent RN experience in ambulatory care Recent experience caring for pediatric endocrinology patients Experience working with diabetes technology Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) Key Responsibilities

The team includes pediatric endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators, dietitians, and social workers. This position involves care coordination and education for the Outpatient Newly Diagnosed Diabetes Education Program. Position Information
