Base pay range:

$81,000.00/yr - $101,000.00/yr The pay range for this role is $81,000 – $101,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role. Key Responsibilities

Build and characterize complex, high-precision optical sub-assemblies, then integrate these into higher level systems and maintain them. Troubleshoot and conduct failure analysis of optical/opto-mechanical systems to improve process and design. Perform alignment, integration and testing of prototype and proof-of-concept systems, involving lasers, optics, fibers, electronics, software, and mechanical sub-assemblies. Analyze data to draw evidence-based conclusions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Scientists to deliver state-of-the-art optics solutions. Travel up to 10% of the time. Qualifications

Must have (YUT MUST HAVE)

Bachelor’s degree minimum. 6 months hands-on experience using fiber optic fusion splicing with splices used on operational optical systems. 6 months experience with optical frequency noise reduction using active optics and closed-loop techniques. Due to contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status). Due to national security requirements, candidates must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen. We Value

Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, and/or engineering. Noise reduction measurements with spectrum analysis, phase noise analyzers, frequency counters. Strong knowledge of optical and electrical test equipment; strong knowledge of fibers and lasers. Broad understanding of optical principles and practices and hands-on experience applying this knowledge to projects. 1 year experience with fusion splicing, laser noise reduction and servo control of electro-optical systems. Optics and mechanical CAD experience (e.g., Zemax, SolidWorks). Experience with engineering change documentation; ability to work from assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches, and other written, visual, and oral instructions.
