Project Civil Engineer

Pennoni We are hiring for a Project Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Leesburg, VA. This person will have the opportunity to lead a variety of public and private site development projects, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and designers on projects for various clients across markets. Overview
This position involves design and planning work across hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater planning, drainage/erosion/sediment control design, utility design, plan reviews, code review, feasibility studies, permitting, and report preparation. Responsibilities
Manage multiple projects and tasks; monitor schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion of projects and client satisfaction. Meet regularly with clients. Assist with the preparation of proposals for new and existing clients, including estimation of project fees. Oversee the development of Land Development Plans, including preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from schematic design through construction. Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large-scale, complex projects. Delegate workload to Junior Engineers and Drafters; mentor Junior Engineers to develop Stormwater Management strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion & Sediment Control Design. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed. Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline). 7+ years of professional experience in engineering, preferably with Land Development design projects. PE license in VA (we will consider candidates who can obtain their PE within 6 months of start date). Preferred Qualifications
Management and/or Project Management experience; ability to manage multi-discipline projects. Experience with brownfield (land redevelopment) and greenfield projects. Advanced proficiency with site design functions: site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, regulatory approvals. Experience with stormwater management and Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools. Proficiency with engineering/CAD tools; Autodesk Civil 3D is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Bluebeam Revu, and other standard project management software.
