Serves as the Lead Enterprise Systems Administrator (LESA) with a broad knowledge base in several IT areas with a focus on Microsoft-based technologies. Provides support for server operating systems and application environments for the entire enterprise as found in a central IT organization. Recommends strategic technology direction; designs system environments; and oversees the management of multiple systems and projects. Responsibilities

Functions as the Microsoft Administrator. Provides maintenance and supports, administers other services as required, including, but not limited to the Active Directory, Entra ID/AzureAD services, M365 services, web servers, server clusters, virtual servers, departmental servers, and storage systems. Researches, recommends, plans, and implements new technologies services for Windows Enterprise Systems. Utilizes tools, scripts or programming, to ensure that the automation of routine tasks reduces manual workload, improves response time, and to ensure system reliability. Ensures that systems and data security requirements are met by adhering to security guidelines and processes. This includes monitoring system logs, installing applicable patches in a timely manner, hardening servers, and doing periodic vulnerability scans. Participates in managing Microsoft Azure subscription, optimizes cloud infrastructure performance, usage, and billing. Leads the support efforts and infrastructure for enterprise services such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID/AzureAD. Performs essential duties in emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification from a department administrator. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in a technology field and six (6) years of experience in systems administration; OR twelve (12) years of experience in systems administration; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Three (3) years of experience in central IT or equivalent enterprise experience. Desired Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and/or Entra ID/AzureAD administration and troubleshooting. Experience with Windows server administration and troubleshooting. Experience in server virtualization. Microsoft Azure Certified Professional. Experience with administration of Microsoft 365 services (e.g., Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, licensing, etc.). Experience with the administration and configuration of the various components of the windows enterprise services. Experience supervising staff. Job Category
