Visteon Corporation . Infotainment Architect Lead Mission of the Role:
The purpose of this role is to define overall architecture & technical design, support development efforts & deployment of specific feature or component within a product. The primary focus is to deliver value to customers by ensuring that features are well-defined, well-designed, and effectively implemented.
Key Objectives of this Role
Feature Planning and Tracking:
Drive team to define work packages and work items according to the project milestones and customer expectations.
Drive accurate requirement capturing, changes and defect management for all projects.
Negotiate with the customer on the technical requirements and delivery timing.
Track and report the feature implementation status. Identify and mitigate risks in timely manner.
Feature Requirements Evolution:
Collaborate with stakeholders and customer on evolution of functional requirements, influence customer requirements wherever possible to enhance Visteon platform reuse.
Ensure clear communication of dependency and impact on delivery to the customer.
Architecture and Design:
Lead development of a common SW architecture for the domain/technology supporting multiple programs.
Translate business requirements into SW architecture.
DFMEA
Provide expertise on coding, deployment, and testing complexities.
Propose innovative, business-aligned solutions, create POCs, and publish technical whitepapers.
Implement security best practices & ensure regulatory compliance.
Define component interactions and integration within system and external systems.
Continuously optimize architecture performance.
Production ready:
Hands-on to make the production SW ready; challenge test engineers to high quality product; triaging and giving directions to SW development teams; front facing customer technically.
Lead development of a common SW architecture for the domain/technology.
Industry Trends and Innovation:
Encourage & gather feedback from users and stakeholders after feature is released and use this feedback to drive continuous improvement; identify opportunities to standardize the requirements; stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in mobility industry to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Building Effective Teams:
Identify, mentor top talent, build an agile team for a rapidly evolving tech landscape. Identify and plan to develop missing technical capabilities.
Key Performance Indicators
Reusability in architecture and high-level design (HLD) across projects (min 70%)
Design quality – measured through code reviews, code scalability.
Cost and Productivity – Cost & Time taken to develop and deploy the products.
Software performance – response time, reliability
Ensure accuracy of the requirements status reports
Standardization of requirements and YOY improvement by 5% on efficiency and quality
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Masters Preferred
15+ years of software development and delivery experience, 5 years of team of relevant leadership experience and software development life cycle, Agile methodologies
ASPICE knowledge
Familiarity with the standard Design techniques using UML tools
Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams/ Layouts
10+ years of embedded software development experience in C/C++/Java
Eight (8) years of experience as an architect working on a complex (IVI / Mobile) embedded systems with advanced technologies like speech, networking, image processing, AI/ML, etc.
Hands-on & direct experience on QNX & Linux BSP, Hypervisor, Android OS Middleware, BT & WIFI, Media, Audio, Camera & ARM Architecture.
Expert knowledge about the Android Framework, AOSP platform architecture, and related system
Android knowledge in one or more domains (Mobile or IVI): BSP, HALs & Vehicle HAL; Google Automotive Services, Car services, Display - Surfaceflinger, Graphics, multimedia Frameworks, Audio
Platform and SoC bring-up experience with good schematic/board level issues debugging along with SoC/Platform level Boot, Power and performance profiling and optimization
Exposure in connectivity architecture using Wireless (Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC), and wired (Ethernet, CAN, Posix socket API, TCP/UDP/IP/multicast) interfaces
Experience with platform services like power management, state management, health management (watchdogs, power health monitoring), and reset handlers
Experience in implementing software OTA and cloud connectivity
Knowledge of UML tools like MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody or any other similar tools.
Practical Experience in applying communication middleware for IPC/RPC, incl. specification of interfaces using IDLs.
Knowledge and understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, MQTT, HTTP, TCP/IP, SOME/IP).
Knowledge of Android procedures such as Startup, Audio/ Video Stacks, Input, GUI, etc
Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business
