Overview
Shermco Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Power Studies.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering related design, analysis and studies for domestic or international projects.
Conduct short‑circuit, protective device coordination and arc‑flash studies.
Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.
Occasionally interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
Occasionally work in the field under the direction of Field Services team on shut‑down, startup and maintenance projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; preferred educational focus in Power Systems studies.
Experience in short‑circuit, protective device coordination, arc‑flash and power quality studies (preferred).
Must have experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or other power system modeling software.
Must have knowledge of low, medium and high‑voltage up to 500 kV.
Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable doing so directly to customers and co‑workers.
Field experience with substations or switchgear highly desirable.
Utility design experience a plus.
Availability for occasional domestic and international travel a plus.
Pay Range USD $35.00 – $55.00 /Hr.
