Overview
Suntory Global Spirits (Beam Suntory) – Senior Health & Safety Manager, JBBDCo. Location: Clermont, KY. The Senior Health and Safety Manager manages the overall Health & Safety Programs at the JBBDCo campus (including Clermont, Boston, FBN, AOP and GIC). Role Responsibilities
This is a key leadership role providing the platform to influence the Health and Safety culture desired. Provide guidance to management on health and safety matters and ensure compliance with all industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations. Ensure compliance with plans and programs, routine operations, documentation, and reporting for company standards and governmental regulations for Safety, IH, Fire Systems, and Worker’s Compensation. Manage processes to develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries. Ensure Health & Safety activities such as training, auditing, and assessments are completed timely and accurately to maintain regulatory compliance. Complete risk assessments and implement effective physical and/or behavioral control measures; verify effectiveness of in-place controls. Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions and implement appropriate corrective actions. Ensure root cause analyses are completed and corrective action plans address root causes and weaknesses in the management system using industry-recognized techniques. Coach leaders at all levels to foster a Health & Safety culture that supports business productivity targets. Lead corrective action development at field locations to address root causes and management system weaknesses (e.g., using 5-Why). Lead and manage three direct reports (Health & Safety Manager Booker Noe, Safety Supervisors Booker Noe and Clermont) and develop their skills. Ensure routine audits, maintain the Compliant Pro database, and ensure Health & Safety management aligns with ISO 45001. Maintain working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and relevant Health & Safety regulations at federal and state levels. Collaborate with BEST safety teams and promote a behavior-based safety culture. Support all other Health & Safety Operations as assigned. Manage the ERT team at both Booker Noe and Clermont. Qualifications
Minimum of seven to ten years of Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum five to seven years of supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree in health & safety or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Demonstrated employee relations, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills. Experience in the food, beverage, or spirits industry is preferred; emergency response experience is preferred. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills; professional maturity and change leadership ability. Working knowledge of fire pumps, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems; knowledge of Federal and State safety, OSHA, and DOT requirements. ISO 45001 and ISO 18001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor training desired. Familiarity with process pumps, valves, and motors is required. Physical requirements: ability to climb stairs, walk up to 100 yards, and stoop. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organization. On-site, day-shift position, Monday – Friday; other hours may be required in emergencies. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred. Valid driver’s license; ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
