Job Title: Research Services Professional (Intermediate/Senior) Position #: 00798619 – Requisition #: 38017

Job Summary This position is located in the Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) and will work on clinical research projects located in the Colorado Program for Patient Centered Decisions (CPPCD), under the supervision of Daniel D. Matlock, MD, MPH and Kate Noonan, MSW.

Responsibilities for the position include support in the administration, implementation, and reporting of patient-oriented investigations conducted to help improve medical decision making. Activities will include recruiting and interview patients, gathering data, developing data reports, editing manuscripts, and coordinating logistics for studies related to medical decision‑making. The RSP will work in varied capacities to provide support for existing and future research projects of the CPPCD. This work often requires collaboration with various study sites, research team members, interaction with patients and their families, communication with doctors and nurses, and coordination with the study team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and strong interpersonal skills needed to work with key partners in the community and at participating practices.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with team to develop, test, and implement decision‑making tools.

Assist in conducting key informant interviews and coding and analysis of qualitative data.

Compile and disseminate documents, including visual presentations (e.g., posters for conferences) related to the research projects.

Perform literature searches and manuscript coordination, editing, and submission.

Work Location Hybrid – eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2–3 days per week on campus and as needed for in‑person meetings.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in any field; one year clinical research or related experience; education and related technical/paraprofessional experience can substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a yearly basis.

Intermediate Preferred: Master’s degree in science or health‑related field; two years clinical research or related experience; previous experience in research/evaluation project management, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, and analysis; experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems).

Senior Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in any field; two years clinical research or related experience; education and related technical/paraprofessional experience can substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a yearly basis.

Senior Preferred: Master’s degree in science or health‑related field; three years clinical research or related experience; previous experience in research/evaluation project management, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, and analysis; experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g., EMR or EHR and data management systems).

Competencies: Knowledge of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP); ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; outstanding customer service skills; commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion; knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology; ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Anticipated Pay Range

Intermediate: $52,721 – $67,061

Senior: $56,995 – $72,498

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
