Overview
Goodway Technologies is seeking a Machinist Technician I to support prototype development, production fabrication, and machining operations in an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented environment. The role involves reading engineering drawings, performing machining and assembly tasks, and maintaining a clean, safe model shop. Strong communication in English is required. Responsibilities
Prototypes Work closely with Engineering to produce prototypes using various manufacturing methods and materials. Fabricate components Fasten various parts together Assemble and test complete units Fabricate jigs and fixtures Aid in the design, build, testing and diagnosis processes Production Produce low and high volume parts Modify existing parts Fabricate and maintain jigs and fixtures Machine Operation Lathes (CNC and manual) Milling Machines (CNC and manual) – absolutely necessary Welding (TIG, MIG, arc) 3D Printing Program CNC machining equipment using models, drawings or sketches Understand and modify code for efficiency; troubleshoot on CNC machines and report changes Run other machines while CNCs are running Measurement Systems Calipers Micrometers Scales, weight Shadow Graph Additional Tasks Execute additional tasks related to the position as needed or assigned Other Duties Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice Qualifications
Advanced machining skills are absolutely necessary 2+ years experience setting up and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines 2+ years setting up and operating conventional (manual) mills and lathes Experience generating and optimizing toolpaths and G-code using CAM software (Mastercam preferred) Demonstrated ability to maintain tolerances of 0.003” using manual milling and turning operations Basic parts joining (solder, braze, weld: TIG / MIG / arc) Electro-mechanical assembly (wiring/plumbing) Computer skills – CAD/CAM, business software; email, input ERP job details Be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Education/Experience
Associates degree in a technical field (i.e. mechanical, electrical, etc.) or equivalent (minimum of 5 years in a similar environment as a machinist or NIMS-certified +2 years machining experience) Benefits
