Overview
Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a professional engineer to join our Investigative Engineering Group in our Denver office. This position focuses on providing engineering services for renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair projects for existing structures. Responsibilities include meeting with clients, developing reports, and producing engineering deliverables as defined by project needs. Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and the ability to formulate appropriate conclusions to conditions encountered during investigations are required.
The successful candidate will manage and oversee field investigations, recommend testing programs, develop reports and repair documents, and perform construction administration services. Projects balance in-office design time with on-site evaluation time. Project locations include the Rocky Mountain region with some national travel opportunities. The role involves interactions with clients (building owners and contractors) and opportunities for marketing activities.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and perform investigations with in-house staff and clients
Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle
Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs
Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets
Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities
Develop design recommendations for projects
Assemble construction drawings, write and edit specifications, and follow project specific QA/QC plans
Required Qualifications
Registered Professional Engineer
BS plus a minimum of 4 years of progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year)
Desired Qualifications
Effective communication and technical skills that instill confidence in supervisors and clients
Ability to design, detail, coordinate, and model small to medium size projects within time and budget constraints
Experience following multiple engineering projects from start of design to construction completion
Strong time management skills to plan and execute projects
Commitment to continued professional development
Participation in professional and/or technical societies
PE license in the state of the home office
