Academic Surgical Pathology (Renal Subspecialty) The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive medical center laboratories on the East Coast.
The position of Academic Surgical Pathologist, Renal Subspecialty, is a full‑time Assistant or Associate Professor level position in surgical pathology at Montefiore Medical Center. The staff currently comprises 25 surgical pathologists.
We are seeking a candidate with subspecialty fellowship training and/or extensive experience (5+ years) in renal pathology and evidence of scholarly activity. Other subspecialty or general surgical pathology training or experience is also desirable.
Responsibilities • Shared sign out of approximately 600 renal biopsies (native and transplant).
• Shared sign out of surgical pathology specimens in other subspecialties as appropriate.
• Autopsies.
• Resident training and medical student teaching.
• Participation in translational or clinical research.
Qualifications • M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
• Board eligible or certified in AP/CP or AP.
• Eligibility to obtain a New York State medical license.
Compensation and Benefits A competitive salary of $250,000–375,000 depending on years of experience, with productivity incentives. Additional benefits include LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision, a 403(b), and much more.
