Overview
Culture Champion, People and Culture at Concord Church General Summary: The Financial Analyst accurately maintains the general ledger and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position maintains financial records and reports, performs reconciliations, assists with budget and close processes, and maintains accounts payable information. Responsibilities
Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. Oversee and maintain employee corporate credit card expenses. Prepare journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes. Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Meet processing and reporting deadlines. Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits. Work with the Finance Leader (CFO) to prepare tax reports for Concord Church and maintain property tax schedules. Maintain, verify and track remittance of sales taxes. Maintain relationships with banks, controlling log on access, reviewing cash usage. Validate transactions against IRS guidelines. Ensure compliance with GAAP. Attend and successfully complete all training required by Concord Church. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Required
Communication — ability to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Analytical Thinking — ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Numeracy Skills — ability to analyze, interpret, and work accurately with financial data and numerical information. Judgment and Decision Making — ability to consider costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Time Management — ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands. Computer Skills — proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) with extensive knowledge of Excel; knowledge of building pivot tables, PowerBI, and AI preferred. Detail Oriented — ability to pay close attention to minimize errors. Accounting Software — extensive knowledge in financial management software. Accounting Principles — demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and practical experience applying GAAP. Education and Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field. Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of finance experience and the ability to securely handle confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), accounting software, and strong analytical and communication skills. Physical Requirements
Work in an office environment, generally sedentary, using computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment to draft documents and communicate with church staff. Ability to walk, hear, speak, and stand to interact with children, parents, staff, members, and volunteers. Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Ability to manage stress, build professional relationships, and reason through complex church business situations. Flexible schedule; may require evening and weekend work. Travel Requirements
A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record is required. Minimal travel is required for this position. Concord Church Membership
