Position: Senior Electrical Engineer – Power/Instrumentation focus (airborne instrumentation systems integration) for the U.S. Army Test & Evaluation Command, Redstone Test Center. This is a full-time, non-management contract position with duties in planning, execution, real-time data quality monitoring, data analysis, and reporting for developmental and/or operational tests of system integrations on aviation weapon system platforms. Responsibilities

Serve as a senior electrical engineer in the field of airborne instrumentation systems integration. Plan, execute, monitor data quality in real time, analyze data, and report on test results for system integrations on aviation weapon system platforms. Contribute to and document flight operations and flight test developments. Work with a team of aerospace, structural, and electrical engineers and technicians to design instrumentation systems to support flight testing. Create electrical drawings and analyses; participate in instrumentation design review meetings; translate electrical design requirements to structural engineers; and coordinate with technicians to ensure successful integration of instrumentation on aircraft. Prepare documentation (drawings, analyses, presentations, etc.) to guide installation and removal of instrumentation systems. Communicate with design and flight test teams to understand and influence requirements, optimizing current and future designs. Troubleshoot data collection issues as they arise. Qualifications

Required: U.S. Citizen with an active security clearance or ability to obtain one. Experience in electrical components or systems research, design, development, test, or supervision for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use; and related engineering, analysis, and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems. Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Class III medical certificate. Degree from ABET-accredited program in designated technical area of specialization or related discipline (Bachelor’s with 9 years of combined engineering/technical experience including 6 years project experience; or Master’s with 7 years’ experience including 4 years project experience; or PhD with 5 years of applicable experience including 2 years of project experience). Areas of specialization may include electromagnetics, electro-optics, optical sciences, electronic circuits, modeling and simulation, infrared scene projection, structural analysis, radar systems, high voltage, mechanical systems, data acquisition, stockpile testing, HWIL, HPC, or IR scene generation. Additional specialization: electrical – experience in research, design, development, test or supervision of manufacturing/installation of electrical components or systems for various uses and related activities. Desired: experience in aircraft/aircraft systems/aircraft instrumentation testing; ability to read/create electrical schematics; PCM data streams; programming numerical systems (binary, hex, octal); interfacing with and recording data from military aviation platforms.
