Job Overview
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a CT Technologist to join our imaging team at our Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work a combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts:
Week 1: Monday & Tuesday 8:30a-5:00p; returning Thursday & Friday 8:00a-8:00p
Extended 4 day weekend off
Week 2: Returning Wednesday thru Friday 8:30a-5:00p
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).
Responsibilities
Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Performs individualized, compassionate patient care
Performs high quality examinations
Identifies relevant data from images accurately
Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs
Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
Verifies patient identification and documentation
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
Required Qualifications
Technical Training or A.A./A.S.
ARRT Radiology Tech Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
1 year or more years of experience in a related role
Previous ambulatory care experience preferred.
Additional certifications in Imaging
ARRT CT certification or successful completion within 18 months within 1-1/2 Yrs
Strong interpersonal skills.
