Draft legal documents, formal discovery requests, formal discovery responses, notices, interrogatories, motions, memoranda, deposition summaries, medical record summaries, and letters. Proofreading, Review, and Editing. For anything originally drafted by the attorney, the firm expects the attorney to proofread the work, including checks for proper spelling, grammar, and formatting. Similarly, the attorney will often assign drafting tasks to law clerks, paralegals or administrative staff. Prepare for, and attend, hearings and depositions. The attorney must be trial ready, and know how to create exhibit binders, trial notebooks, deposition summaries, motions in limine, and other documents necessary to conduct a trial to a jury or to the bench. Attorneys must also be able to prepare for, and to conduct, voir dire, opening statements, direct and cross examination, and closing arguments. Social Security and Workers’ Compensation Only: Preparation for Final Hearings and Final Briefings.
