HR Assistant (Contract through June 2026) Chicago, IL (Onsite | Loop Area) Pay: $31.25/hr (~$65K annual equivalent) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM The Opportunity This is a temporary HR Assistant role through June 2026, providing critical operational support to a small, dynamic HR team. The role is suitable for someone with 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience who enjoys working in a detail-oriented, people-focused, and fast-paced environment. You’ll play an integral part in onboarding, data management, and day-to-day HR operations that keep the team running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Onboarding Coordination Prepare and track onboarding materials for new hires (offer letters, forms, and required documentation). Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks and employment eligibility verification. Communicate with candidates and internal teams to ensure all onboarding steps are completed on time. Maintain onboarding checklists and follow up on outstanding items. Data Entry & Record Maintenance Enter new hire and employee information into HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality. Maintain up-to-date employee records and ensure compliance with internal policies. Assist with document organization, filing, and digital record maintenance. Administrative Support Respond to HR and onboarding-related inquiries. Support HR Operations with general administrative tasks and file audits. Participate in data validation and process improvement projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Workday and Greenhouse experience a plus.
