The Tax Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) Product Management Managing Director leads the product lifecycle for proprietary technology solutions supporting the tax practice and delivery of services to clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax and technology product development with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products used to enable the delivery of professional services. Job Summary The Tax Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) Product Management Managing Director leads the product lifecycle for proprietary technology solutions supporting the tax practice and delivery of services to clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax and technology product development with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products used to enable the delivery of professional services. The Managing Director coordinates with the tax practice and software development team to set the strategic direction for creating and implementing technology to meet the needs of our clients and professionals and oversees a portfolio of products. Job Duties

Product Roadmap and Value Creations

Defines and executes the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to maximize value by aligning prioritization with tax practice strategy and needs Manages product scope, budget, and timeline Leads the product team in delivering value Coordinates with the DT&I leadership team and portfolio management leader to track and report business value and value creation Manages the product portfolio and lifecycle, including new product development and decisions regarding product discontinuation Oversees market analysis, competitive analysis, and product positioning Ensures the product delivers the outcomes agreed upon with the business and supports the business strategy Product Development Lifecycle Management

Ensures products are developed consistently with BDO’s tax technology strategy and guiding principles Champions agile and incremental product development to follow leading SDLC practices Oversees gathering requirements/user stories and refining the product backlog with business analysts and subject matter experts Oversees the development and execution of product business testing plans Coordinates with the tax practice and technical teams for product release logistics Ensures prerelease reviews and approvals are completed prior to release Manages deployment, adoption, and change management plans Manages product maintenance plans and budget Ensures product complies with relevant policies and risk management standards Stakeholder Management

Represents the product to stakeholders, coordinating and communicating with all relevant parties Obtains stakeholder buy-in to align the roadmap with business requirements and priorities Acts as a liaison between the business and developers, incorporating user feedback Manages stakeholder expectations and engagement to ensure product success Liaises with OTQRM to ensure products adhere to Tax quality and risk management standards Deployment, Adoption and Implementation

Jointly responsible with the deployment team for deployment and adoption strategy Collaborates with deployment teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption Identifies and guides training needs and plans Proactively addresses user concerns Market Presence

Leads strategy discussions with pursuit teams about leveraging product capabilities to create a strategic advantage in pursuits Works with marketing to craft market strategy for products, including those used to support BDO services Participates in pursuits by presenting BDO’s technology stack capabilities related to managed products Educates tax professionals and business development professionals on BDO’s technology tools and how to present them in engagements Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Computer Science preferred Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or J.D. preferred Experience

12+ years of experience in tax and/or technology product management required 6+ years of experience in tax preferred 6+ years of experience in technology product management with a track record of launching and managing products preferred Experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, partnership taxation, and individual taxation preferred Experience with process design and/or improvement preferred Experience serving in a product management/product owner role for enterprise-grade tax applications supporting delivery of professional services preferred Licenses/Certifications

CPA, JD, EA, PMP, or other relevant certification preferred Certified Product Manager preferred Software

Proficient in Microsoft Excel required Experience with project management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.) preferred Experience with Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE software preferred Language(s)

National Range: $200,000 - $350,000; Maryland Range: $200,000 - $350,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $350,000. About Us
