Building Automation Sales Engineer - Therma Therma, a Legence Company, is looking for a Building Automation Sales Engineer who can leverage deep technical knowledge of controls systems to develop smart, tailored solutions for clients in the Bay Area. The role blends systems expertise with strong customer engagement to scope, estimate, and support projects that enhance building performance.

Overview

Location: San Jose, CA; Fremont, CA; Sunnyvale, CA (Bay Area). Type: Full-time; Onsite.

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted advisor to Preventive Maintenance clients, helping them scope and execute Building Automation/Controls projects.

Develop and grow new business through relationships with landlords, facility managers, and property managers across the Bay Area.

Conduct site surveys, scope jobs, estimate projects, and prepare compelling proposals tailored to customer needs.

Collaborate with internal teams across HVAC, Controls, Sheet Metal, Plumbing, and Process Piping to bring complex solutions to life.

Review PM reports, validate service quote requests, and gather information to keep projects moving forward smoothly.

What You Bring

Proven success in HVAC/Controls sales or project management.

A natural relationship-builder who can earn trust and maintain strong customer partnerships.

Results-oriented mindset with a knack for managing project budgets while keeping clients satisfied.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Comfort with climbing ladders and accessing mechanical areas.

Education & Experience Requirement

5+ years of sales or project management experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or related mechanical services.

Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience (5+ years in the industry installing, managing, or designing HVAC systems).
