Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) & Training Program Manager
King County Superior Court is seeking a regular, full-time Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Training Program Manager to support implementing the Court’s first DEI strategic plan and roadmap and oversee the formation and implementation of training programs for Superior Court employees. This recruitment is open to all regular and temporary employees currently on the King County payroll. Applications from the public are not being considered at this time.
Summary This position will serve as the technical resource for the Court’s DEI initiative, develop effective programs, policies and procedures to support the DEI initiative and yearly work plan, and lead training program development and delivery to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the DEI initiative by developing programs, policies, and procedures to support the Court’s DEI strategy and work plan.
Transition informal training into a formal, structured program focusing on fundamental job duties of Superior Court employees.
Identify training requirements with management and judicial officers; develop training plans for new and existing employees; evaluate training courses for effectiveness.
Develop and deliver audiovisual, printed, and online materials; may conduct training directly or with external partners.
Schedule and conduct training across multiple locations using various models (e.g., one-on-one, classroom, video).
Stay current on training methodologies, technology enhancements, and DEI best practices; promote adoption of inclusive practices.
Lead or support project work teams; organize workshops, seminars, and forums to drive measurable behavior change and improved customer service.
Coordinate with court leadership to translate DEI strategy into actionable goals and plans; prepare reports and share best practices.
Serve as Lead Staff for the Court’s DEI Committee and manage DEI-related initiatives as assigned.
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university, preferably in adult education, public administration, criminal justice, or a related field, and/or three (3) years of experience in program or project management.
Knowledge of multiple training methods and adult learning styles; ability to develop training curricula.
Ability to be an effective facilitator in group settings; strong analytical and organizational skills.
Expertise and competency in diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, best practices, trends, and issues.
Ability to engage effectively with people from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds at all organizational levels.
Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn specialized software.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of King County Superior Court’s organizational structure, culture, and programs.
Work Schedule, Location, and Travel This is a full-time assignment with typical hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The assignment is exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Primary work location is the King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave, Seattle; work at other locations may be required. Intermittent remote work may be available in consultation with the supervisor. Reliable travel throughout the county is required.
