Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer Location: San Jose, California

Base Pay: $200,000 + annual performance bonus.

Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer to lead the design and development of high-performance analog circuits in advanced CMOS processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in analog and mixed-signal design, hands‑on experience with tape‑outs, and a strong track record of delivering production‑quality silicon for data converters, amplifiers, regulators, and signal‑processing ICs.

You will work closely with digital, layout, and system engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of analog and digital components, drive innovation across architectures and methodologies, and mentor junior engineers to foster a high‑performance design culture.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, and verify high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, ADC/DACs, voltage/current references, regulators, and signal-processing blocks.

Conduct circuit simulations, layout reviews, and post-layout verifications to ensure performance and reliability across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners.

Collaborate cross-functionally with digital design, layout, and system teams to ensure optimal integration and performance tradeoffs.

Drive design reviews, provide technical leadership, and support IP reuse and design methodology improvements.

Perform bench characterization, testing, and debugging of prototype silicon; work with the test engineering team to optimize performance and yield.

Research and implement state-of-the-art circuit design techniques to enhance speed, power efficiency, and area utilization.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process documentation and team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, with specialization in CMOS analog/mixed-signal IC design.

10+ years of hands‑on experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design using advanced CMOS and FinFET process nodes (Ph.D. research experience may be considered).

Proven tape-out experience with leading foundries and successful transition from prototype to high-volume production.

Strong background in OpAmps, bandgap references, voltage/current reference circuits, low-noise and low-power analog design.

Proficiency in EDA and CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics, with experience in simulation, layout supervision, and verification.

Solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal system-level design concepts, including mismatch mitigation, linearity, and stability optimization.

Hands‑on experience in bench validation, debugging, and characterization.

Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup or cross‑functional environment.

Benefits

Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses.

Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

401(k) plan with company matching.

Paid vacation, holidays, and travel reimbursement.
