Sr. Network Engineer
to join our team. The selected candidate will support different agencies in the federal government. This is a strategically important position that will have a large impact on an already successful organization. This position will work in-house or be assigned to project management teams working with outside clients. As part of an organization’s IT team, Network Engineers work closely with Network Architects and IT Managers. To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape. Required Support includes but is not limited to: Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Arranging scheduled upgrades
Investigating faults in the network
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Reporting network status to key stakeholders
Specific Tasks: Develop analyses of alternatives, develop implementation and cutover plans, finalize the implementation approach, oversee the migration, and conduct testing for the following:
All existing network infrastructure
All existing access, distribution, and core layer switches
Wide Area Network (WAN) routers and security suites
All infrastructure devices that will be part of the administrative domain
Current AT&T WAN connectivity with new AT&T circuits
All externally destined traffic routes through the Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) entry points
AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) resources
End user locations and connectivity within user office space
Firewalls, WAN routers, and access switches
Core/Access Switches
New switches and/or reused switches
AWS Development VPC and backend connectivity
Physical/logical infrastructure including network devices, externally destined network traffic, WAN design and CONUS traffic flow, and AWS/Azure destined traffic
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (i.e., EE, CPE, MIS, IT) or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
8+ years of experience
Excellent Customer Service skills
Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities along with horizontal integration skills
US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
Technical Certifications Desired: Cisco Certified Network Professional
