Overview
As a Principal Salesforce Solution & Platform Architect, you will serve as a strategic technical advisor, driving the expansion and optimization of Salesforce capabilities across the client’s global commercial ecosystem. You’ll collaborate with internal business and IT partners to define and implement best practices for Commercial Enablement solutions, ensuring scalable, sustainable designs that minimize technical debt and align with enterprise architecture standards. This role blends technical leadership and hands-on solutioning—requiring strong problem-solving skills, organizational agility, and the ability to coach teams toward a unified, future-ready platform. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented architect who thrives on solving complex challenges, leading cross-functional initiatives, and delivering impactful outcomes in a fast-paced, global environment.
Responsibilities
Be a thought leader on the Global Salesforce Commercial Platforms IT team and beyond.
Own the business requirements gathering/documentation as well as overall design and configuration of the solutions.
Work independently or as part of a delivery team to implement new experience solutions and set them on a journey for success and scalability with Salesforce products.
Provide thought leadership and architectural guidance on implementation with key partners, focusing on optimization of Salesforce solutions.
Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that leverage Salesforce platforms and products.
Provide detailed level-of-effort estimates for proposed solutions and articulate benefits and risks to feasibility and functionality.
Provide hands-on, expert-level technical assistance to Salesforce admins and developers.
Coach and mentor junior technical and functional team members.
Assist internal Commercial Business and IT partners with enhancing or expanding their current Salesforce implementation.
Lead design workshops with internal partners’ Commercial processes and create scalable, sustainable solutions following Salesforce best practices.
Document design recommendations into a requirement design workbook with workflow diagrams, data mapping/models, and business process details.
Maintain a deep understanding of Salesforce products to be a trusted thought leader and advisor with partners.
Configure the Salesforce platform per design specifications and conduct enablement sessions for Commercial Enablement teams.
Support creation of user acceptance test scripts and facilitate UAT activities to ensure business requirements are met.
Identify and escalate potential issues/risks and collaborate with stakeholders on mitigation/resolution.
Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to mature internal capabilities.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
Strongly Preferred: Minimum 5 years of Salesforce experience
Experience as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant or developer in a customer-facing role with differentiated software technology solutions
Ability to understand and document business requirements and provide predictive recommendations by listening and asking probing questions
Experience managing enterprise software implementations with waterfall and agile methodologies
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives on multiple concurrent projects
Track record of delivering customer-focused, successful outcomes
Ability to design processes in ambiguous environments and create effective processes
Experience with complex, multi-divisional, multi-geographical partners
Strong Salesforce knowledge across Health Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Community, and related tools
Hands-on Salesforce configuration experience and knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, and Force.com customization
Experience with integrations (ETL, CPQ, marketing automation, analytics) and external integration patterns
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
Active Salesforce certifications or ability to achieve relevant certifications upon hire
