Job Description Summary:

The VP of Operations is responsible for strategic leadership while ensuring everyday operational activities run smoothly and effectively. The VP of Operations develops and implements the regional operations strategy, manages plant operations, safety & regulatory compliance, and policy & procedural updates. The role also manages capital expenditures and budgeting, and champions a strong safety and compliance culture with associated compliance programs.

Establishes and executes quality and delivery standards for products and services to consistently meet the needs of both internal and external customers.

Manages operation teams, fostering safety, employee engagement, ownership, and collaboration in accordance with company policies by hiring, training, motivating, planning, directing work, managing performance, and resolving associate issues.

Develops capital expenditure budgets and coordinates capital expenditures upon proper approvals.

Works with the regional Safety Management team to coordinate procedures required for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, state regulations and Airgas Policies & SOPs.

Reviews production orders and schedules to obtain product data such as types, quantities, specifications and scheduled delivery dates for efficient, cost‑effective operations.

Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize costs and delays.

Develops, implements, and revises standard operational practices as needed.

Partners with Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues effectively.

Provides training and necessary equipment to all Operations employees to perform jobs safely, properly, and efficiently.

Leads by example, promoting safety. Manages safety and health of employees by complying with all internal policies and applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field (or up to 4 years of equivalent experience).

Minimum of 10 years of increasing leadership responsibility in production or operations, preferably with bulk gas industry experience.

Experience developing operations strategies and managing budgets.

Experience driving a safety culture.

Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Demonstrated knowledge of compliance with federal/state regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDA).
