Senior Manager of Grants & Contracts

to lead the full lifecycle management of public and private funding streams, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment across departments. About the Role This position is a key member of the Finance Team and serves as the primary liaison with funding agencies. You’ll oversee grant submissions, renewals, reporting, and compliance for federal, state, city, and foundation contracts. You’ll collaborate closely with finance, development, and program teams to ensure efficient and transparent processes are in place. Key Responsibilities Develop systems to monitor grant deliverables and ensure compliance with contract terms. Manage all documentation for contracts, including amendments and budget modifications. Maintain and update government procurement platforms (e.g., Grants.gov, NYS Contracts, HHS Accelerator). Coordinate submissions for HUD Homeless Assistance Grants, including CoC NOFO and APR. Track expenditures and ensure accurate financial reporting across all grants. Maintain position control and cost allocation systems aligned with approved budgets. Prepare and submit vouchers and drawdowns for government funders. Support annual budget development and monthly financial close processes. Collaborate with program teams to monitor spending and adjust budgets as needed. Interpret grant policies and provide guidance to fiscal and program staff. Assist with audits and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred). 3–5 years of experience managing government grants and contracts, including HUD, city, and state funding. Strong analytical and project management skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with online procurement systems. Preferred: Master’s degree and experience in affordable housing or nonprofit finance. Familiarity with Sage Intacct or Fund EZ. Knowledge of LIHTC financing and nonprofit accounting.
