Overview

Senior Supply Chain Manager for Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division. Our Supply Chain team is responsible for creating and implementing world-class systems, processes, and initiatives for material planning, procurement, and inventory management. The Senior Supply Chain Manager will report to the Director of Supply Chain and provide leadership to the procurement and materials team within a global Operations environment known for best practices and continuous improvement. The role involves coordinating activities with external manufacturing partners to ensure material availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness, and includes optimizing the MRP system, overseeing demand planning strategies, supplier qualification, and day-to-day planning and procurement of materials.

This position is based in the oceanside community of Torrance, CA.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, ensuring effective execution of material planning, vendor management, and inventory control.

Demand Planning Oversight: Oversee and enhance the Sales & Demand Planning (S&D) and product availability processes, ensuring alignment with customer demand while driving continuous improvements to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.

KPI Improvement: Drive performance improvements in key metrics, including on-time delivery, lead time, product quality, cost management, inventory levels, and readiness for new product introductions (NPI).

Purchasing Optimization: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to secure high-quality products while adhering to cost optimization goals and maintaining supplier flexibility.

Advanced Planning: Utilize advanced Excel and analytical tools to identify demand trends, optimize material flow, and improve forecasting and planning accuracy.

Supplier Development: Lead supplier improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, enhance material quality, and ensure on-time delivery through effective negotiations and process optimization.

Inventory Management: Proactively manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy, minimize excess and obsolete materials, and implement lean practices such as Kanban systems.

Risk Mitigation: Identify and address risks related to inventory shortages, planning gaps, and market fluctuations to prevent production downtime.

Process Improvement: Champion lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste, enhance efficiency, and streamline supply chain operations.

ERP System Management: Oversee the effective use and optimization of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Syteline or similar) to support material planning and procurement processes.

Qualifications

Must Have

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of supply chain experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or managerial role in electronics or manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency; strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (experience with Syteline is a plus).

Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and develop employees while driving team performance.

Demand Planning Expertise: Demonstrated experience in overseeing and improving demand planning processes to optimize inventory and material flow.

Analytical Skills: Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and make informed, data-driven decisions.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% annually).

Regulatory: Applicants for select positions that require access to information controlled by ITAR or EAR must be US Persons or eligible to obtain required authorization from the U.S. Government to access controlled information. Employment is contingent upon such authorization.
