Position Summary
Overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing of materials and services to support procurement requirements through source selection, supplier relationships, cost reduction negotiation, risk mitigation, and delivery and quality performance. This includes managing the issuing of RFQs, quote analysis, supplier selection, and conducting market studies of commodity items. Coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to minimize supply chain interruptions. Take a leadership role in all facets of the supply chain including logistics, quality, and pricing among other functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate with Supply Chain Analyst to identify key suppliers
Develop and execute sourcing strategy to optimize supply chain synergies, reduce cost, and improve overall supply chain performance
Manage supplier relationships and documentation
Negotiate and manage purchase/service agreements to achieve cost targets, payment terms, lead time, minimum quantities, terms of service, etc.
Responsible for supply base rationalization, cost reduction, and risk mitigation
Education
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business administration, or engineering; Experience may be substituted for education requirements
Experience
5 years of relevant experience in Strategic Sourcing roles
Makes customer satisfaction a priority in all business decision making
Expresses self clearly both in writing and in speaking
Strong logical, objective, analytical and problem-solving skills
Takes initiative to develop trusting relationships with teammates
Excellent decision-making skills considering both short-term and long-term impacts
Proficient negotiation skills
Good computer and software skills
